Starbucks iPhone Login screenA couple of MacRumors readers have noticed that AT&T hotspots are now offering free WiFi access to iPhone users. Barnes and Noble, Starbucks and soon to be AT&T’s 71,000 other Wi-fi hotspot locations are now offering iPhone users free WiFi.

A special iPhone formatted page is presented in iPhone Safari when in range of one of the hotspots and it asks for a AT&T mobile phone number, which after authentication, access is granted.

The service isn’t yet available at all AT&T WiFi hotspots but it’s expected to be soon.

Chime in in the TalkBack below if you’ve had a chance to test it in your area.

Update: Screenshot courtesy of the PowerPage podcast’s Rob Parker who reports that it’s up and running at the Starbucks on Broad Street in South Philly.
