iPhone 3G availability tracker mashupLooking for an iPhone 3G?

Apple provides an iPhone 3G availability application on their retail Web page that lists iPhone availability by store location. (The app appears to be offline as of press time). The problem is that Apple’s availability application forces you to drill down store by store to find product.

Chris Barnes has addressed the problem by creating an iPhone 3G availability tracker mashup page. On it he aggregates the Apple store’s JSON data feeds and presents it on one convenient page.

Current stats:

  • 22 of 188 stores (12%) have no 3G iPhones in stock
  • 8 GB Black 3G iPhones are available at 129 of 188 stores (69%)
  • 16 GB White 3G iPhones are available at 155 of 188 stores (82%)
  • 16 GB Black 3G iPhones are available at 115 of 188 stores (61%)
