Preview: Plusmo Pro Football Live appAs you already know I really want a good NFL application for the iPhone. Now that it’s NFL season and it would be great to track teams, players and games in progress – especially when you can’t be in front of a television.

As I’ve I mentioned in the past I’m looking for something to suppliment wap.nfl.com, myiphonefootball.com and SportsTap (iTunes link) on my iPhone.

I’ve been testing a new app that appears to be the answer to my prayers, at least partially – Plusmo Pro Football Live. It’s a free app that I’ve been beta testing that’s coming soon to the App Store.I tried it last night during the NFL’s opening game between the Giants and Redskins and was impressed. The graphics are clean, relatively fast and it’s loaded with data. The online chat looks to be an interesting addition although I didn’t have a chance to test that yet.

It delivers a “virtual stadium” experience on the iPhone and provides easy one-touch access to up-to-the-minute pro and college football action, scores and the ability to cheer and boo from the sidelines and trade comments with other fans.

The Plusmo NFL app is an extension of Plusmo’s pro sports widgets and is loaded with features. An early version was launched on the iPhone app store earlier in the year and attracted more than 3 million fans who watched the Super Bowl via mobile phone using Plusmo’s software.

Earlier this month Plusmo introduced the PGA Tour Tracker (iTunes link), the first tour tracker application for the iPhone. Plusmo Pro Football Live has been submitted to the App Store and is pending approval.

I wouldn’t be surprised if we see an official NFL app announced at Apple’s Let’s Rock event on Tuesday.

Would you pay for an NFL app? Or are the free ones enough for you.

I think there are to many glitches in it it constantly sticks you have to restart it and the boo and cheer buttons are not as responsive as they should be if these were fixed it would be a blast ... (Read the rest)
