Apple's Let's Rock event wrap-up
The following is a wrap-up of Apple’s Lets Rock media event today in San Francicso which began at 10:00 am PT.
iTunes Stats:
- 8.5 million songs
- 125,000 podcasts
- 30,000 TV shows
- 2600 movies
- 3,000 apps for iPhone and touch
iTunes 8:
- HD TV shows. US$1.99 (SD), US$2.99 (HD)
- NBC is back (The Office, 30 Rock, etc.)
- Grid view allows you to browse by album cover, genre
- Genius feature allows you to make playlists from songs in your library that go together
- Genius sidebar makes recommendations from the iTunes store
- Genius sends data about your iTunes library to Apple (anonymously), combines it with info from others, and it gets smarter
