It appears that Americans enjoyed a healthy serving of Macs over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

Writing for Fortune’s Apple 2.0 blog Philip Elmer-DeWitt analyzed Apple’s domestic sales on Amazon.com over the critical Black Friday selling weekend. He concludes that Apple’s online sales got off to a better start than expected but that they didn’t sell as well as last year.

Apple doesn’t report its sales numbers until the end of their fiscal first quarter, some time in late January.
