Adobe Creative Suite 3New York — I'm at Adobe's Creative Suite 3 launch event here in Soho and the program just started. Adobe CEO Bruce Chizen addressed the crowd at the sleek Skylight studio on Hudson street. President and Chief Operating Officer, Shantanu Narayen is now on stage talking about the future of publishing.

John Loiacono, Senior Vice President, Creative Solutions Business Unit, is on stage now introducing the new product updates (80+ million lines of code) and a couple of products that they haven't launched previously. He's talking about LiveColor in Illustrator on the online service called Kuler. InDesign allows you to place photos, graphics and text more easily. Dreamweaver has seemless integration with Photoshop and Illustrator. Flash is much more integrated throughout the suite. And of course, there's Premiere, Premiere Pro and After Effects.

Design, Web and Production suites are up now. Each has a Premium and a Standard edition. Product demo now… InDesign is being demod as part of the Design Premium bundle by Ginna Bladasarre. The Kuler widet for OS X is pretty impressive.

Moving onto a demo of Web Premium by Greg Rewis. Fireworks is not dead, it has a brand new role, as a prototyping tool for Web sites and rich Internet applications. The Web premium demo is pre-empted by a 20 minute intermission while a video static problem with the two large projectors is being debugged. Adobe was quick to point out was a hardware problem.

Production Premium bundle and After Effects are being demod by Bob Donlon. The demo wrapped up and the crowd has disbursed to the rest of the room to mingle and watch individual product area demonstrations.

My photo gallery is now posted.

You can view the launch event live via the Adobe Webcast.
