Apple notebook market share almost 10 percent in March
According to NPD Group Apple's MacBook and MacBook Pro made up 9.9 percent of all notebook sales at U.S.-based retail stores during March. MacBooks combined with strong iMac sales pushed Apple into the top five desktop manufacturers for the first time this year, according to the NPD report.
Apple ranked fourth on NPD's top selling notebook vendor list with 9.9 percent of the market. Here's the lineup:
- Toshiba 26.2 percent
- HP at 23.9 percent
- Gateway's 13.0 percent
- Apple 9.9 percent
- Compaq 8.5 percent
