iPhone New York TimesThe information vacuum surrounding iPhone’s rate and data plans leaves us little choice but to speculate.

iPhoneFAQ reports that AT&T will require you to purchase an unlimited data plan with iPhone, potentially leaving customers that use little or no data paying extra. The good news is that Gizmodo quotes an AT&T sales rep who says that the unlimited (albeit slow) EDGE data plan will cost US$30 per month.

I think that US$30 per month is a little spendy for a paltry 236.8 kbit/second EDGE data service and think that it shouldn’t cost more that US$20 per month.
