If you were hoping to add cool ringtones to your new iPhone (like the CTU ringer that the office phones emit on 24) you’ve undoubtedly been disappointed that Apple doesn’t give you the ability to do so. Well no more. Custom iPhone ringtones are here my friend, but they aren’t easy.

The hack requires two applications (jailbreak and iPhoneInterface) and the iPhone software restore image. It involves moving some files around in the Terminal, so it’s not for the faint of heart, but it works.

Although I really want to have the CTU ringtone on my iPhone, I’m going to wait until Apple adds the Ringtones tab back to iTunes.
