iPhoneMyeBay - first iPhone certified eBay clientAttention eBay bidders: You’ll definitely want to want to bookmark this site on your iPhone iPhoneMyeBay (now iRibbit).

Just a couple hours ago iPhoneAppLab released the first eBay certified iPhone application. It allows you to watch and bid on eBay items from your iPhone. Features include:

  • Bid from your iPhone
  • View your full eBay Watch list
  • Check the current item bid
  • Always know when the auction closes
  • See Item Details - including # of hits
  • Know if you are the high bidder

“Certified” means is that eBay has blessed it:

eBay has put the application through rigorous QA testing and said that it meets it qualifications for working with eBay APIs and providing users of the applications all the benefits available.

What’s also nice, is that they don’t store your eBay login information on their servers (like all those sketchy Web-based IM services). They simply ask for your user ID, then redirect you to an eBay page which requests your password. Once authenticated you’re redirected back to iPhoneMyeBay.com and your watched list instantly appears with pictures and current prices.

Vunderbar!

So far, you can only watch and bid on items, but it’s super compelling and I recommend that you eBay junkies check it out post haste.

If you really need the ability to search and do full My eBay stuff then you should bookmark wap.ebay.com on your iPhone. It works pretty darned well, albeit without images and that slick iPhone UI. The native eBay application and iRibbit Plus are the best ways to access the auction site from the iPhone.

Updated 8/12 to reflect new name and a change of heart on the wap site.
