Hacked: Apple TV USB

Apple TV hackedFor those waiting for a larger hard drive in the Apple TV, wait no more. Apple TV Hacks has posted a tutorial for using an external USB hard drive for expanded storage.

The patch has a couple of caveats, you need to get your hands dirty in the terminal (you need SSH), it’s only been tested on Apple TV software version 1.0 (not v.1.1) and it effectively ignores the 40 or 160GB of space on the Apple TV’s hard drive. It’s a small price to pay to having, say, a 2TB external drive attached to that bad boy. Go get ‘em tiger.
