Yahoo confirms exec departure
Yahoo on Monday confirmed that Scott Moore, a senior vice president at the company, is leaving “to pursue other opportunities.”
Yahoo confirmed Moore’s departure in a statement. Last week, Moore was at PaidContent.org’s Future of Business Media conference talking up Yahoo Finance–not that he said much–and the role of financial portals. A week later, he’s officially gone. BoomTown’s Kara Swisher reported earlier that Moore was leaving.
Moore will be replaced by Jeff Dossett as senior vice president of U.S. Audience. Dossett will oversee Yahoo’s consumer properties and report to Hilary Schneider, executive vice president of Yahoo’s U.S. operations.
Before coming to Yahoo Dossett was executive producer and general manager for Microsoft’s MSN Media Network. Dossett had been employed by Microsoft since 1991 and joined MSN in 2000.
Dossett joins Yahoo at an interesting time. Yahoo turned down Microsoft’s takeover bid, but the deal could revive if the stars line up.
