Verizon Wireless will make Research in Motion’s Blackberry Storm available to the public on Nov. 21.

Josh Taylor and others report (Techmeme) report:

Verizon just announced that the BlackBerry Storm (aka, the BlackBerry 9530), will be available online and in Verizon Wireless stores beginning Friday, November 21. The price is in line with expectations — $199, after a $50 mail-in rebate, and of course, the obligatory two-year commitment.

In other words, I had the right week, wrong day. Chatter coming from customer service reps indicates a lot of excitement from Verizon Wireless. It’s pretty clear that Verizon sees the Storm as its iPhone stopper. The Storm could thwart churn increases and keep customers in the fold.

Now we’ll get to see if the Storm can live up to its advance billing. Verizon Wireless and RIM have a lot riding on it either way.
