Intel's Intru3D technology takes Super Bowl stage (just before halftime)

Intel was stumping for its Intru3D technology at the grocery store Sunday. Talk about a new sales channel.

At checkout today the cashier was handing out 3D glasses for a Monsters vs. Aliens commercial at the end of the second quarter of the Super Bowl. The commercial will require the 3D glasses for the full effects. Folks without the glasses will also be able to see the commercial. 

The Intel logo is plastered right between your eyes–literally. 

Pepsi’s Sobe unit is providing the distribution for the 3D glasses. 

Intel’s Intru3D debut is the product of a broad partnership between the chip giant and Dreamworks Animation. 

Dreamworks Animation will begin producing all of its movies in 3D with Monsters vs. Aliens, which debuts in March. Dreamworks Animation CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg called the latest 3D movie technology “the greatest innovation to occur in the movie business in 70 years.”

I had a similar experience. I'm not sure I could watch a whole movie with those on but I also get car sick easily so maybe that has something to do with it.... (Read the rest)
