Zoho goes gadget happy; Brings apps to social networks
Zoho said Thursday that its apps–Zoho Docs, Mail, Calendar, Tasks and Planner—will be available as Open Social compatible gadgets on Facebook, Gmail and iGoogle.
The move is an effort to bring Zoho to where the action is. Zoho has increasingly lowering barriers to adoption. For instance, Zoho will take a Google or Yahoo log-in to create an account.
The gadgets can be embedded into sites or added to iGoogle or Gmail without entering credentials. On Facebook, Zoho can also be added as a gadget.
While Zoho’s move appears to be aimed at consumers, the company intends to create gadgets for its business applications such as CRM, Invoice and Meeting. Zoho’s primary focus remains business applications.
Here’s what Zoho looks like as part of iGoogle.
