Vote in TechRepublic's mock election for 'President of the Internet'
As a bit of fun on U.S. Independence Day, TechRepublic is running a mock election for “President of the Internet.” The idea is that July 4, 1776 is the day when the United States celebrates its birth as a nation. The Internet itself now has over one billion citizens, so if it was a nation unto itself, who would its residents select as their leader?
Here are the four candidates:
- Mark Andreesseen
- Leo Laporte
- Molly Wood
- Jason Calacanis
To find out why these four candidates were chosen, to vote, and/or to write in your own candidate, check out the TechRepublic post.
The poll will be open for one week until 11:59 pm Eastern on Saturday, July 11. If a less than a one percent victory margin separates the top two candidates then there will be a run-off between those two.
