MyDoom variant slams mailboxes
A pesky new variant of the MyDoom worm–dubbed MyDoom.m or
MyDoom.o–was clogging e-mail accounts and crippling major Internet search engines Monday with messages posing as either a returned mail notice or an alert from an IT administrator. By Tuesday, the worm attack was starting to fade. MyDoom.m mainly arrives as a simple executable program file, and appears to be fairly nondestructive. Note to corporate workers: Have your morning coffee before opening your e-mail.
