Battery cost
In CA, state law requires a 150,000 mile warranty on the battery pack. (my best recollection from selling Ford Escape Hybrids)

One can logically assume that the vehicle plus warranty costs will not be a money looser. Economies of scale will make them a LOT cheaper. ... (Read the rest)
