ie7logo.jpgInternet Explorer for XP SP2 beta 2 is now out in the wild for the universe to bang on. The official launch will be sometime later this year along with Windows Vista. We have a review by Rob Vamosi detailing the new features, such as tabs, RSS integration and improved security. It’s still buggy, of course, and not ready for the masses yet. The RSS, printing and tabs are nicely done based on my early experience with the beta.

Here’s the feature list from Microsoft:

Dynamic Security Protection

ActiveX Opt-in
Security Status Bar
Phishing Filter
Delete Browsing History
Address Bar Protection
URL Handling Security
Fix My Settings
Add-ons Disabled Mode

Protected Mode (Vista only)
Parental Controls (Vista only)

Makes Everyday Tasks Easier

Simplified User Experience
Advanced Printing
Toolbar Search Box
Favorites Center
Tabbed Browsing
Quick Tabs
Tab Groups
RSS Feeds
Page Zoom

Improved Platform and Manageability

CSS Improvements
Alpha Channel in PNG
Group Policy Improvements
Improved AJAX Support
Open Search Extensions
RSS Platform
Application Compatibility Toolkit
Internet Explorer Administration Kit
