Simply Hired takes Fox Interactive money

Slick job search engine Simply Hired picked up $13.5 million from Fox Interactive Media and Foundation Capital, bringing total financing to $17.7 million. The acquisitive Ross Levinsohn, president of Fox Interactive Media, is quoted in the press release as follows: “Fox Interactive Media’s growth strategy is to strategically partner or acquire category leaders and technology innovators that broaden or enrich our users’ experience. Our investment in Simply Hired underscores that approach and we look forward to working with them to power job search for a variety of properties on our network.” No one is saying how much of Simply Hired Fox gets in the deal, but taking the startup public at some point could be a big windfall, and failing that buy the rest of the company. However, first Simply Hired needs to get some revenue, which it is beginning to do with Google ads and sponsored links…
