MyDoom's defense attorney: "Your honor, we have an alibi."
Anti-virus companies and security researchers may be jumping the gun when pinning the blame of a newly discovered exploit on an old worm. Case in point? A recent hack of Yahoo’s People Search engine was originally blamed on a variant of MyDoom. However, MyDoom can breath easy because it was a case of mistaken identity. The real perp turned out to be Evaman. Aren’t you glad we cleared that up?
