Salesforce.com continues to find new ways to extend and generate more revenue from its base platform, this time with a Partner Edition. The new edition, also known as Partnerforce, allows customers to extend Salesforce.com CRM services to any partner, such as a distribution channel. It’s basically a customizable portal with a subset of Salesforce.com CRM dashboards, analytics and sales optimization features federated outside of a single enterprise, with consolidated views across channels. The Partner Edition can also be AppExchange services. According to the press materials, Partner Edition will be available July12, will cost $1,500 per partner per year (including subscriptions for five partner employees) and requires a base subscription of the Salesforce Enterprise or Unlimited Edition.
