A closer look at IBM's 2004 hiring plans
AMR Research has got the inside scoop on IBM’s ambitious hiring plans for this year, which will net nearly 19,000 new jobs worldwide:
About two-thirds of the new positions will be for IBM Global Services, as the company adds more expertise in Linux, Grid Computing, and Business Transformation Services. IBM plans a similar split for professional hires versus university graduates. New graduates are expected to make up one-third of the new employees. IBM said that it hired 500 more new graduates in the first half of this year than it did for the same period last year.
