VaporStream offers recordless messaging
At DemoFall 2006, Void Communications introduced VaporStream, a Web-based, recordless communications platform. In other words, it’s for people and organizations who want real privacy and confidentiality. It’s not email, according to CEO Joseph Collins, and separates the message from the header. It provides presence information and notification on the Web. The stream message is queued up on VaporStream’s servers, exists in RAM only and send via SSL. Once a message is sent, it is gone, deleted, nowhere to be found. Pricing for individuals is $39.99 per year per user and $5 for mobile usage; enterprises pay an additional $5 per use setup fee. Some agencies and regulatory agencies might have some problems with this kind of technology–or might want to use it. For example, HP would have better off using this system for its now infamous spy operation, but then it would have violated regulatory requirements and been vilified for its actions even more if they came to light..
