This week on the Dan & David Show, David goes deep on the assertion by Steve Ballmer that Linux infringes on patents from Microsoft's IP treasure chest. The Novell-Microsoft deal is just a first step in Microsoft's quest to assert its alleged and as yet unspecified IP rights related to Linux. I discuss Bill Gates' visit to the TechNet Innovation Summit, where his passion for world-changing philanthropic efforts was in clear evidence. David and I spend some time on the iPod versus Zune, and how Microsoft will do going up against Apple in the music and video space.

We also discuss how the Net generation, which has grown up purely digital, is on a collision course with fossilized corporate, hierarchical organizational models and will cause a major shift in the workplace, and the how squeaky, entrepreneurial wheels like Jason Calacanis, now formerly of AOL, play critical roles in keeping large companies from getting complacent. We also have a special Turkey day podcast of the week selection.
