True confessions: NetSky/Sasser author speaks

Not that it matters if you were affected by either exploit, but did you know that there were 29 variations of NetSky and 3 of Sasser?  How about this?  Before getting into virus authoring, the original intent of the creator of NetSky and Sasser — a German teenager named Sven J. — was to do something nice for everyone by writing a self-replicating cure for MyDoom.  But the allure of "the Dark Side" was apparently to seductive to resist.   Sven J. isn’t in jail, yet.  The German authorities are building their case against him.  Meanwhile he’s still buddies with the friend that turned him.  ZDNet’s Robert Vamosi has the scoop.
