Worth watching: During the holiday I had the pleasure of watching "In Search of the Valley," a film written, directed and edited by fellow ZDNet blogger Steve O'Hear. The polished film, shot in September 2004, documents the month long journey of Steve and friends to explore the soul of Silicon Valley, how it grew from the legendary Hewlett-Packard garage in Palo Alto and Homebrew Computer Club into a trillion dollar industry and essential part of our culture. At the center of the film are Steve Jobs and the Macintosh, an individual and a product that best capture the entrepreneurial, mercurial and innovative nature of the Valley. "In Search of the Valley" also connects art nerds and Burning Man. The story is woven from interviews with Apple co-founder, Steve Wozniak; Macintosh developer, Andy Hertzfeld; PC pioneer, Lee Felsenstein; Adobe co-founder, John Warnock; Macromedia co-founder, Marc Canter and many other participants in the Silicon Valley computer revolution.

A DVD of the film is available for $18.  TechCrunch editor Mike Arrington liked "In Search of the Valley" too.
