CNET.com editor-at-large Brian Cooley did a back of the envelope calculation and reached a terrible conclusion if you’re Steve Jobs.  Now that the lights are on in Microsoft’s online music store, Cooley says, "Apple’s iTunes store and iPod players have been earning a 4.0 grade point average. But, Microsoft merely has to get a 3.0, multiplied by the Windows user base, and it wins."  As a file format, will WMA (Windows Media Audio) lead to the same dominance in music that MS-Office file formats helped to establish in productivity suites?
