Demo 07: TeleFlip--the poor man's Blackberry
TeleFlip promises to give 2.3 billion cell phone users free email and alerts on their SMS-enabled handsets without any additional software, according to company CEO Tony Davis. Give TeleFlip your email address and it redirects mail to your cell phone. Davis called it "the poor man's Blackberry," which it is.
Users can set rules for what email gets delivered to their phone and it integrates with Outlook. TeleFlip can also give users an alias address, so they can avoid giving out their personal email addresses. The company plans to generate revenue with ads and via premium services to business users. The service will be available in the U.S. starting in March.
