NewTube goes to Washington
This week a number of Silicon Valley pioneers and practitioners of the NewTube–next generation TV, video, formats and business models–put on suits and testified before the Congressional Telecom and Internet Subcommittee on the "Future of Video." HDNet's Mark Cuban, Sling Media's Blake Krikorian, YouTube's Chad Hurley, Gina Lombardi of MediaFLO/Qualcomm, Ben Pyne from Disney and ESPN, Tivo's Tom Rogers and Phil Rosenthal of the Writers Guild of America, West and Screen Actors Guild, were the 'witnesses' lined up in front of the U.S. legislators, who were led by Ed Markey (D. Mass.), one of the more tech savvy members of Congress.
Of course, videos of the session have been uploaded to YouTube, including the brief closing statements by the witnesses.
