Zoho on Wednesday announced an enterprise version of its Zoho CRM application in a move that the company hopes will spur corporate adoption and poach a few Salesforce.com customers. The enterprise version of Zoho CRM features the following:

  • Role-based Security Administration;
  • More customization and data administration features;
  • Support for 11 languages;
  • SSL support;
  • Integration with Zoho Sheet;
  • Automatic updating of stock information when a purchase order is approved;
  • A 20,000 records per batch import limit;
  • De-duplication check when data is imported.

Among those features, the security additions will be most notable to companies.

Zoho (all resources) also detailed its pricing plan for its CRM plan with the enterprise edition running $25 per user a month. The professional edition will run you $12 per user a month and the personal edition is free for the first three users.

Let’s be clear about Zoho’s motives: It wants to take on Salesforce.com’s CRM, which Zoho portrays as bloated. Consider Zoho’s key talking points:

  • Zoho maintains that at least one or two Salesforce customers migrate to Zoho CRM every day and the company argues “we are sure there are many other migrations under the cover.”
  • “While we compare well with Salesforce in terms of functionalities, we are favored as an affordable solution,” says Zoho.
  • Zoho CRM will save you money with the same functionality.

Those takeaways amount to fighting words and the Zoho-Salesforce rivalry has been heating up. Zoho follows up with a presentation that includes this chart:
