Technology Review's new feature tells us why emerging tech matters
This month, MIT’s publication Technology Review introduced a new design with a host of changes, including the addition of some new sections that the magazine’s editor, Jason Potin, says "define technological impact more expansively." One of them, called "Synopsis," describes recent important innovations and explains why they matter. Edited by Monya Baker (you may know her from eWeek), the latest Synopsis for information technology looks at an algorithm that sniffs out digital alterations, a new display that permits the control of 3-D graphics through hand gestures, and a statistical model that compensates for biases caused by malfunctioning or poorly placed sensors in sensor networks. This is primo reading for seasoned techies and proto-geeks alike.
