A big day for Apple - and Steve Jobs

Once again, Apple has summoned the press to an event - dubbed “Let’s Rock” - to be held this morning in San Francisco. I’ve got my invitation, so I’ll be on site to deliver the news. Apple event

Of course, we run the risk that the news will be anti-climactic, seeing how blogs have been speculating for weeks about the expected announcement. The consensus thinks we’ll see an iPod Nano 4G with an iPhone like screen (one where the video adjusts to a landscape view when you turn the iPod to the side). But we’re also looking for a new version of iTunes,  price drops for the iPod and more. Early on, I was hearing some buzz about updates to Mac OS X, as well, though that rumor seems to have faded away.

But it won’t just be the products that grab some attention. All eyes are also on Steve Jobs, who hasn’t been in the public eye since June, when observers noted that he looked less-than-healthy. Apple hasn’t answered any questions about Jobs health, calling it a private matter. Apple hasn’t said whether or not Jobs will make the presentation this morning but at least one analyst, Gene Munster of Piper Jaffray, speculated in a note to investors Monday that Jobs’ appearance would be a positive for the company’s stock.

We’ll see…

The event begins at 10 a.m.

that some CEO's don't even dare dream of. About his health,
skinny does not always mean unhealthy. I wish I was as
skinny as Jobs, been trying to lose weight forever.... (Read the rest)
