CES: Leading Quake 4 professional gamer "LoSt CaUzE" talks about his Dead Finger Tech
Not only does the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas bring out the hottest technology products, it brings out the hottest professional gamers: people who make money and lots of it doing nothing but playing video games. Well, actually, the best ones are like the sports players who get paid the big bucks to endorse certain products. Here at CES, I had a chance to catch up with Rafik Bryant, otherwise known in the world of gaming as LoSt CaUzE (here's his Web site). If you've been following my Testbed blog, then you should know that in 2007, I'm working on a series of stories that I'm referring to as the "Dead Finger Technology Series."
What's Dead Finger Technology? I want to know from technology users which technology they have in their posession that I can have, only after prying their dead fingers from it (you're free to contribute). Bryant was here at the show representing Able Planet, an audio gear company that amongst other things, makes noise cancelling headphones (of which there are many at the show). For the holidays, I got my first pair of noise cancelling headphones from my wife: a pair of Bose's Quiet Comfort 3's. Anyway, I asked Bryant what his Dead Finger Tech was and, even though he was speaking on behalf of Able Planet, I felt he was also speaking very sincerely of his experience when using the company's Clear Harmony headphones.
