Via Digg, the author of Gas.App for Safari on the iPhone (integrates with Google Maps to help you find cheap gas using an iPhone…see partial screen shot below) has been checking his Web logs and low and behold, he’s pretty sure he’s had a few visits from people in possession of an iPhone. Through the logs, he picked up on some spec data that isn’t readily available from Apple yet. Wrote Jeff:

It appears that the iPhone is running Safari 419.3 (which is the “old” Safari — not the 3.0 beta one), and has a reported resolution of 320×396 for the web viewing area (which is approximately what was expected, but I don’t know if that includes the controls at the bottom or not). The iPhone also reports that it does NOT have Flash support (which stinks!).

Well, we sorta knew it didn’t have Flash since one of the early criticisms had to do with how developers could really build anything for the iPhone (a situation that changed ever so slightly when Steve Jobs showed Safari for the iPhone last week at Apple’s WorldWide Developers Conference).
