A grab bag of tech, schwag, books (and the bag itself!) goes to the ZDNet reader who...
ZDNet’s Deputy Reviewer of the Week program is now entering it’s seventh week and the giveway train just keeps rolling. So far, we’ve identified 12 Deputy Reviewers and have given away more than $2500 in product to ZDNet’s audience members:
- Three copies of Balesio’s PPTMinimizer (value $30 each)
- Two copies of GuardID’s ID Vault (value $50 each)
- Four Sun Spot Java Development Kits from Sun’s Labs (value $550 each)
- One Microsoft LifeCam NX-6000 (value $80)
- GoodHope Bags G-Tech fabric wireless keyboard (value $165)
- Cardo Scala 700LX Bluetooth Headset (value $65)
For more information on how the program works and how you can participate, see the announcement I made about seven weeks ago and make sure you read the rules and regulations.
This week, I’ve assembled a grab bag of stuff that starts with an 802.11b-based SDIO card from Socket Mobile valued at around $70 (if you’re phone or PDA has an SDIO slot, this could add WiFi functionality to it). In addition, I’ve thrown three books into the bag. One is Code Quality: The Open Source Perspective (value $43), the other is The NetBeans IDE Field Guide (value $44) and the third is Enemy at the Water Cooler (value, $32, cover pictured right). Also inside the bag are some AA and AAA batteries representing the latest in battery technology from Panasonic: known as Oxyride (valued at about $15).
Then, if you’re a coffee drinker or a user of salesforce.com (or both), then you’ll appreciate the stainless thermal salesforce.com coffee mug that I’m including in the bag (it has a narrow base meaning it will fit in most cupholders… yay!). I don’t know what it’s worth and don’t worried, it’s unused. And then finally, there’s the bag itself. The shoulder bag has dozens of pockets and compartments and has a padded section to hold your notebook computer. I like it so much that I’d actually be using the bag myself if it wasn’t for the fact that I use a wheelie to save my back.
So, who should the grab bag go to? Use the comments area below to tell me why you should be the one we send it to and by Friday of this week, you could be our winner. Lastly, no e-mails please. To participate, you must use the comments area below. Thanks!
