Web 2.0 is dead ... long live Web 2.0

VCs are telling me they have lost interest in Web 2.0 companies. If the VCs lose interest then does this mean bad news for Web 2.0 startups?

Will Web 2.0 become a Web 2.UhOh? That is the sentiment in parts of the VC community. But would this be true in other communities?

For example, in the IT space, would the term Web 2.0 be viewed with disdain or with interest? Would a corporate IT department seek out Web 2.0 products or services?

Will the term Web 2.0 survive the VC snub because it is relevant to communities that are just discovering its meaning? I think it will.

I have a question: Is “Web 2.0″ a positive term in your community? Is it new, getting old, or is it viewed as strange?
