I am oh so ready to dump Verizon Wireless and Sprint PCS for iPhone on Cingular -- yeah!

Apple Inc.'s Steve Jobs more than made my day today, he made my decade.

Only this product in this way could make me eager to soon waste about $400 — not on the iPhone per se, but on paying the penalty for dumping the wireless losers I'll be stuck with until June. Sprint and Verizon Wireless, I shall pay your $200 early cut-off fees gladly, for it will be the last dollars I ever spend with you. I will toss your handset and PCMCIA cards into the recycle bin with glee.

I practically need a shower after Jobs's awesome demo of the new iPhone. It does it all except that it does not yet appear to act as my mobile broadband connection for my OS X notebook PC.

Surely, that must be in the works. Because soon all I will need for work, play, home and business — total life productivity — appears to be an OS X notebook PC and Apple iPhone … especially if the Cingular service connects the PC to the Internet via the iPhone (Bluetooth?).

So it will be WiFi at home and the office, and Cingular EDGE on the road. iPhone for everything. I'm there. I must have this product ASAP, and as I said, I'll dump the other stuff — two-year contract or not.

I was clearly too pessimistic in my earlier blog. Those who took the poll got it right: "Apple will build, buy and partner successfully to make it happen, and blow the market wide open."  This gets us much closer to my vision. Thank you, Apple. Please do tell on the use of the iPhone to mobile Internet-connect my PC too.

Underwhelmed?
What he heck does that mean? I have never owned an Apple product, but I sure appreciate the design and sheer techno-art fusion of their stuff. It is very much like the stuff they have in Asia, but nev... (Read the rest)
