Google starts tweeting, and maybe ready to buy?
Google recently started using Twitter to take advantage of the popular micro-blogging platform. You can visit Google’s twitter page at http://www.twitter.com/google. Their latest tweet says:
Grinches, and fishes, and cats all the rage - there’s a Dr. Seuss doodle on the Google homepage!
If you haven’t used Twitter before, you can subscribe to these type of feeds, and even set it up to push tweets to your mobile device as they happen.
Micro-blogging is becoming extremely popular these days by both companies and individuals — for example, you can subscribe to ZDNet’s twitter account here, or my personal one here. It’s quickly becoming a hot commodity, as Facebook has already tried purchasing the company, and new rumors emerge saying that Google’s doing the same.
With Twitter, Google could attempt to index real-time tweets — an interesting idea, and a definite possibility.
