IDC reports that EMEA WLAN customer revenue increased by 33% to $665.8 mln during Q4 2005, compared to $499.5 mln in Q3 2005. The total EMEA market revenue reached $2 bln in 2005, representing a growth of 52% compared to 2004. Revenue for WLAN infrastructure increased by 46.6%, while revenue for add-on clients decreased by 2.4%. This decline can be attributed primarily to declining sales prices, and while shipments of add-on clients remained constant, new client additions were shipped as integrated connections in laptops and desktops. The residential market increased by 45% while the enterprise market stayed relatively flat, with QTQ growth reaching no more than 5%. Enterprise demand increased by 14%, while revenue for independent access points decreased by 21%.
