US venture investments down 16% in Q1 2005
Seattle Post-Intelligencer looks at the VentureOne and Ernst & Young report on venture investments and breaks the news of 16 Washington state startups getting $106 mln worth of funding in Q1 2005. This is a 56% decline compared to Q1 2004, when 23 companies got funded with $241 mln. Nationally, investments declined 16%, in part because of a lack of interest in health care and biotechnology deals.
