10 mln navigation systems to come pre-installed by 2012
Over the 2008-2009 mobile handsets will play an increasingly important role in portable navigation markets, with handset-based navigation devices reaching an annual sales volume of more than 96 mln units by 2012. ABI Research expects penetration rates of factory-installed navigation systems in the United States and Europe to increase gradually to 30% by 2012, reaching an annual volume of more than 10 mln units.
