Gartner: PC notebooks forecast
Worldwide notebook sales in 1997 totaled 13.3 million units and 14% of the computer market. This year, Gartner projects that notebook sales will reach 35.3 M units, nearly triple 1997’s figures, and make up about 22% of the computer market. By next year, Gartner figures 42.5 M notebooks will be sold, taking almost 24% of the market.
