Port80 Software conducts monthly surveys of Fortune 1000 corporations’ Web sites to determine their Web server software. February 2004 rankings are: Microsoft IIS (53.5%), Apache (19.3%), Netscape (16.8%), others (10.3%). The “Others” category includes Lotus Domino, Weblogic, Websphere, IBM, Sun ONE and Zeus. It’s also worth noting that inside the Microsoft’s 53.5% market share only 2.9% related to its latest IIS 6 server, while the bulk of the customers, or 43.3%, maintained their Web site on IIS 5.
