Australian music sales up 8% for 2003
Australian Record Industry Association released sales figures for 2003 showing an increase of nearly 8%. Album sales topped 50 mil units, up from nearly 47 mil in 2002. But even more dramatic was the increase in music DVDs where sales doubled in the year to nearly 5 mil units. Between them, albums and DVDs generated sales of a very healthy $646 mil, up from $609.5 mil.
