Most prolific online spenders live in Seattle, San Francisco, Hartford, Tampa
According to regional tabulations from AOL Online Shopping Cities survey, Seattle boasts the most generous men who plan to spend an average of nearly $771 on gifts this holiday season (which is 38% higher than the overall average for all shoppers in the survey). Hartford, Conn., meanwhile, is home to the most generous women, who say they plan to spend an average of $646 this season.
Portland, OR meanwhile, has been crowned ‘Scrooge Capital’ among both men and women men there said they plan to spend a miserly $393 this holiday season; women only $441. The cities with most prolific male spenders are - Seattle, San Francisco, New York, Detroit, Baltimore. Females who are eager to pull out their credit card at an e-commerce site live in Hartford, Tampa, Raleigh, Chicago, Atlanta. Male scrooges choose Portland, Philadelphia, Cleveland, Tampa, Sacramento. No luck for online sellers targeting the women in Portland, Phoenix, Dallas/Ft.Worth, Orlando, Sacramento.
