US CD sales up 2.3% in 2004
US CD sales rose by 2.3% in 2004 (the first rise in four years). CDs account for 98% of the 666 mln albums sold, according to Nielsen Soundscan. A total of 140 mln digital tracks were legally downloaded in 2004.
