Average technology merger size down 58.6% in 2004 from 1999
There were 376 merger and acquisition deals for venture-backed companies in 2004, a 23% increase from the 304 in 1999. Meanwhile, the average deal price sagged considerably, falling by 58.6% from $141.8 million in 1999 to $60.2 million in 2004, according to VentureOne.
