E-greetings site traffic down 36.7% on Valentine's Day 2005

Market share this year to the e-greetings category was down 36.7% on Feb 10, 2005 versus Feb 10, 2004. Visitors to e-greeting sites on Valentine’s Day, 2005 were 61% more likely to be over 55 years of age according to Hitwise demographics data. That age group makes up 25.7% of visitors to the e-greetings category, even though they represent only 15.7% of the Internet population. Both e-greetings and flowers & gifts sites are visited primarily by females, who comprise 62% of visitors to both categories.
