Top 80 tech companies had $229 bln in cash in Q1 2005
Companies in S&P 500, excluding banks and other financial institutions, had a record $766 bln in cash at the end of Q1 2005, according to Thomson Financial. The 80 tech companies on that list generated $229 bln, or 29.9% of the total.
